Two openings

Business Development Manager

Fully commission-based • Singapore • Flexible / field-based

We are appointing two commercially driven people to develop qualified opportunities, strengthen customer relationships and support Wali Engineers’ social-media marketing.

01

Role purpose

Build a dependable pipeline for our engineering, security, facilities, home renovation, maintenance, automation, energy, products and training services. You will turn market conversations into properly qualified opportunities and coordinate with the technical team through proposal, follow-up and award.

You will own the early commercial journey: mapping priority accounts, opening credible conversations, understanding the client's operational or property needs, qualifying budget and timing, and organising the information needed for a responsible technical response. The aim is to create opportunities that are realistic, commercially worthwhile and ready for the delivery team to assess.

The role also connects business development with social marketing. You will translate approved capabilities, project lessons and service themes into useful content, engage relevant audiences and convert genuine enquiries into documented sales activity—while protecting customer confidentiality and avoiding unapproved technical or commercial promises.

What success looks like

  • A consistent, well-qualified pipeline across target sectors, with clear decision-makers, needs, values, timing and next actions.
  • Disciplined follow-up from first contact through site discussion, proposal, negotiation, award and structured handover.
  • Social activity that produces measurable conversations, enquiries, appointments and attributable opportunities—not vanity metrics alone.
  • Accurate coordination with technical colleagues so clients receive achievable scopes, assumptions and commitments.
  • Professional long-term relationships that generate repeat enquiries, referrals and partner-led opportunities.
02

Business development responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify opportunities across MCSTs, managing agents, facilities teams, commercial and industrial organisations, homeowners and channel partners.
  • Arrange introductory meetings, site discussions and solution presentations with relevant decision-makers.
  • Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline, contact history, next actions, estimated value and probability of award.
  • Work with project and technical personnel to prepare accurate scopes, proposals, quotations and follow-up responses.
  • Develop referral, contractor, supplier and strategic-partner relationships that create sustainable opportunities.
  • Support tender monitoring, lead qualification, negotiation and commercial follow-through without making unauthorised pricing or delivery commitments.
03

Social-marketing responsibilities

  • Plan and publish professional content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and relevant business communities.
  • Turn approved project capabilities, customer needs, promotions, products and training topics into useful marketing posts and campaign ideas.
  • Respond promptly to social enquiries, qualify leads and move suitable prospects into the sales pipeline.
  • Track post reach, engagement, enquiries and lead conversion, then refine the content plan using evidence.
  • Protect customer confidentiality, obtain approval before using project information and maintain accurate brand messaging.
04

Who should apply

  • Self-directed business developers who are comfortable creating their own prospecting activity and following through consistently.
  • Strong communicators with credible presentation, relationship-building, negotiation and written follow-up skills.
  • Experience in B2B services, engineering, security, facilities, property, renovation, technology or related sectors is advantageous.
  • Practical familiarity with social-media content, lead generation and basic campaign-performance tracking.
  • Able to work ethically, represent the company professionally and maintain accurate records.
  • Suitable for candidates who understand that this engagement has no fixed monthly salary or retainer.
Commission structure

This is a fully performance-based appointment. Commission eligibility, rates, attribution, payment timing, client-payment conditions, exclusions and termination treatment will be stated in the signed commission agreement. Commission is payable only on approved, attributable business and according to the agreed collection milestones. Any reimbursable business expense must be approved in writing beforehand.
